Music Ministry

From prayerful meditation to shouts of joy, from retreats into solitude to applauding crowds, worship takes many different forms. The gift of music is one specific form of worship that helps us declare truth, express our faith and rejoice in God. Our desire is for every generation of our church family to experience musical forms that will strengthen their faith and deepen their walk with Christ. Thus, we provide opportunities for both instrumental and vocal praise and worship, incorporating both classic and contemporary forms. For those who are not musically inclined, we also offer a variety of supporting ministries n the area of sound board operation, media projection and audiovisual recording and editing.

Is there anything more delightful than the sweet strains of children's voices singing their praises to Jesus? We are so pleased to offer a complete choral program beginning with our preschoolers and extending to our younger and older children. Not only do these choirs sing occasionally in worship, but they also present both a Christmas Concert and a Spring Concert every year. Our older children attend a music camp every summer and may even audition for the Alabama Baptist State Honor Choir.

Our youth are involved in a wide variety of music ministries from traditional Youth Choir to contemporary forms of praise and worship. Out of Nothing is the name of our Youth Praise Band which plays at The Exchange on Wednesday Nights. We also offer young ladies an exciting and creative opportunity to use their gifts by serving on our Dance Team. Whatever musical skills or styles our young people choose to embrace, we seek to offer an expression that allows them to use their talents in honoring God.

Using many different approaches, our young and median adults provide the vast majority of the music we enjoy in worship services. Our largest musical group is our Sanctuary Choir which sings almost every Sunday. We also hear from time to time from our vocal ensemble, an audition group known simply as Celebration. On many special occasions and holidays, our Handbell Choir performs. We also have a Worship Band that provides accompaniment every Sunday morning. You can always find a place to share your talent.
